Prerequisites
- The applicant must be 17 years of age.
- The applicant must have a high school diploma, GED or pass a VMI entrance exam.

- The applicant must have a physical exam and be free of communicable diseases.
- The applicant must have a Tuberculin test and have negative results or have a chest x-ray performed.
- The course is taught in English, therefore the applicant must be able to read and understand English.

- The applicant must have an interview with one of the school directors.
- The applicant must be or have been a dental assistant who wishes to refresh their skills. Proof of past experience is needed, such as reference from a dentist or transcript of courses.
- The course is taught in English, therefore the applicant must be able to read and understand English.
- Applicant must be aware that the deadline for enrollment is one week before the start of classes.
