Course Description:
A forty-hour course, taught days, evenings, or weekends, designed for the dental assistant who is working in a dental environment and has not been certified in radiography technology. This course prepares the student to take the state radiography exam.

Pre-Requisite: Must be presently working for a dentist and present a reference from the dentist.

COURSES

DAXR-01 – Terminology

Introduction to dental terms that will be used in general dentistry. The tooth numbering system, dental and oral anatomy, instrument identification and nomenclature as well as equipment operation.

DAXR-02 – Radiography Theory

X-ray theory and methods, developing and exposure methods, darkroom procedures and x-ray safety procedures.
